The Red-R Journal
The Red-R Journal is a peer-reviewed, open access journal sponsored by Red-R.org. The general structure and motivation is modeled after The R Journal. The intended audience is anyone interested in the Red-R Framework, data analysis, visual programming, statistics, and data discovery. Our goal is to provide a medium tailored to Red-R users, developers, and maintainers, in order to facilitate the exchange of ideas within the community in a stable and reviewed manner.
We welcome everyone to take part in this community to enhance the process of data exploration and analysis. We are currently accepting articles to be published.
Articles can be one of four types; Core Development, Packages, Template Collections, or Reviews. Core Development articles focus on changes and progress on the core of Red-R and are the primary source for Red-R documentation (along with Red-R.org). Packages should describe a novel package made for use in the Red-R framework. Template Collections are sets of templates for use in Red-R and should describe some novel analysis method or highlight a feature of Red-R that allows data to be processed more efficiently. Finally, Reviews are general review articles about analysis pipelines which may compare and contrast the utility of different packages or templates. Of course, packages can include templates and should briefly describe their use. It may, however, be more prudent to discuss large collections of templates in a separate "Template Collections" article, as "Packages" should focus primarily on the widgets developed in the package.
